"Have been unavoidably detained by the world. Expect us when you see us."

"And thou wert lovely to the last, Extinguish'd, not decay'd; As stars that shoot along the sky Shine brightest as they fall from high." ~Lord Byron

"A myth is, of course, not a fairy story. It is the presentation of facts belonging to one category in the idioms appropriate to another. To explode a myth is accordingly not to deny the facts but to re-allocate them."
~ Gilbert Ryle, The Concept of Mind (1949)

"If you would be a real seeker after truth, you must at least once in your life doubt, as far as possible, all things."
~René Descartes

"Truth certainly would do well enough, if she were once left to shift for herself. She seldom has received and, I fear, never will receive much assistance from the power of great men, to whom she is but rarely known and more rarely welcome. She is not taught by laws, nor has she any need of force to procure her entrance into the minds of men. Errors, indeed, prevail by the assistance of foreign and borrowed succours. But if Truth makes not her way into the understanding by her own light, she will be but the weaker for any borrowed force violence can add to her."
~John Locke

"From meetings and partings none can ever escape. Nor from magic." ~Neil Gaiman

"Art finds her own perfection within, and not outside of herself. She is not to be judged by any external standard of resemblance. She is a veil, rather than a mirror." ~Oscar Wilde

"The sad truth is that most evil is done by people who never make up their minds to be good or evil." ~Hannah Adrent

"But to see her was to love her; Love but her, and love for ever. Had we never lov'd sae kindly, Had we never lov'd sae blindly, Never met—or never parted, We had ne'er been broken-hearted." ~Robert Burns

"First rule of magic: Don't let anyone know your real name. Names have power." ~Neil Gaiman

"Now I shall go to sleep. Goodnight."

What I've been up to... - Saturday: I sat down, slacked off and watched the rest of Total Drama Action. I caught up, decided that Trent sucks, Gwen is better off and no one is truly objective. *Realizes that they probably stole his name from Daria's Trent, mind you TDA Trent would never be as cool in one million years* - Cause you know what "It's cool," means - it means I wish you a slow painful death - in those situations.
Speaking of Daria, I watched through the show in prep for when the dvd set comes out. Why is it no longer on the air!?

Hmm... today I went to the swap meet, made some money for my stuffs so now, not so broke. But now, I am sunburned and my nose is very red. I'm hoping it's gone down by tomorrow.
Finally got out that damn transition chapter, 697, so 698 should come quick with 699 :D *HAPPY DANCES!*

Yeah, cause I'm so not missing out on 700.
Night~~!

FINALLY!!

I am no longer a broke person in debt with their bank but a broke person with a positive bank balance.
I think it was breaking down on the phone that I'd been given the run around by everyone that finally made them give it to me. And there was no being transferred - finally - just the first person that helped me did it.

But this doesn't mean I still don't hate banks/money.
Now to get cleaning.

So... tired...
Of money, of life, of my failure to obtain employment, of my failure to prepare myself properly.
What did I get all those loans for?

All right enough self-pity.

I got up at noon, still tired from exerting myself to get the bathroom shining last night. Then kaachan and I went to SD to get my magazines - I'm finally getting caught up on that. And sorry guys who are still following my raws but I'm done scanning in stuff every week. #32 will be my last and it's not as if everything has already been posted. So I'm only getting issues with conan so I'll save some money next week.

Otherwise, my parents have been redoing their room, it was kind of cute them painting together, it turned out nice, and now we're looking at our room so I'll be starting the cleaning out part tomorrow, so it's easier to rearrange stuff.
And then I've been watching Daria. I'm on season 3 already. Ah Trent~~

Gotta get up early to catch a call from the damned bank. I'm so closing that account anyway. Then I've gotta call and get deferments for teh loanz.

Reply to this meme by yelling "Words!" (or you can just ask for the meme, I won't mind) and I will give you five words that remind me of you. Then post them in your LJ and explain what they mean to you.

Words from[info]ytak !

Manga! - I knew this one was going to be in the top 3 (hehe) and with good reason of course, it takes up a huge amount of my life. Most of my disposable income goes towards it. What I really like about it is that it's a more open form of storytelling. There are all kinds of stories printed as manga but if you think of comic books here in america it's usually fantasy or superhero related. And I read through so many books through my teens but I've never found stories like these before.

Doctor Who - I keep reading everywhere "you never forget your first doctor" and I probably never will. It'd be over the top to say I've fallen in love with yet another character, but I really do admire him. The creators of the show give the Doctor and his companions such wild adventures, too good to be real, travels I can only hope to have. But for all that the "splendor" he has, there's always that reminder to us the viewers that there's a huge trade off. There aren't simple moments with the Doctor, no day to day life. If I could have a little of both, that'd be good.

California - It's debatable that this is the greatest state in the union. The weather is indeed perfect (in certain parts) and there's so much of the world here already, I don't think I'll ever leave.

Detective Conan - Love it. Always. Never gonna give it up.

Happy - Hehe, this is a funny word for me. It makes me smile ^^;; It's a feeling, an aspiration... one of those odd things. It's what I feel should be the norm, and not a fake happy either, a sincere one, simple as that ^^

All right. So one of my favorite movies, "The Greatest Show on Earth," just started and I was wondering about the aspect ratio, because I had always saw it in full screen.
Well the movie, was indeed, made in full screen - 1.37 : 1 to be exact - which is also 35mm, like 4:3 (which is 1.33:1) - it's all basically full screen.
So I read the wiki article about this. Turns out, most movies were made full screen and tv of course used that when it started. Now, we have this whole fuss with widescreen tvs thanks to Hollywood. They started using widescreen to draw the crowds back in when attendence went down because of tv (never mind maybe people had better things to do like drive in their cars on sunday, etc).

Now, maybe it doesn't bother some people, but it really bothers me. When you have a widescreen tv (16:9), and shows aired in 4:3 - like the movie I'm currently watching - you either have to zoom in, effectively cutting the top and bottom, or leave it zoomed out with black bars on the sides.
But I can handle the bars, what bites is that of the 46 inches of tv I have, I'm only using about 36 inches (hasn't actually measured because I don't think they'd like me measuring~)
And sure this current problem will go away once everything is in "widescreen," but where does that place classic shows once everything is? Would they care people don't like cropping then?

In short I blame Hollywood. If it had just stayed making 4:3 - except for those really important pictures like Sleeping Beauty - we wouldn't have 17 different aspect ratios (the 4:1 I don't count because it was only used for that Napoleon (1927)).
And now that everyone has a movie theatre at home (with their wide screen tvs), they're trying to get people to go see 3-D? Pfft, don't make me laugh.

My geek side has just emerged. I forgot how much I love the old Twilight Zone episodes.
I've seen two out of three so far that I really like - the first was Nothing in the Dark *ahh if he were death - in fact, the concept of death there is almost Doctor-ish*
The other one I like is A Short Drink from a Certain Fountain. The actress in it, Ruta Lee, looks kind of like Britney Spears from certain angles. But that's not of course what's interesting to me, just a minor trivia thing.

And dude, I just realized how many episodes they got per season, and for a half hour show I'm very sad 30 Rocks only gets about 24 in comparison to 36 or so that the Twilight Zone usually got.

At least I know what I'm watching the rest of the holiday weekend ^^

Comic-con! We're going! David Tennant! 4 days! [except for neechan :( just sunday] but it's okay!! DAVID TENNANT!!

*is finally done agonizing over tickets and getting everyone in to make up for saying a few weeks before sunday sold out "Oh the only good thing that day is usually the last movie in the Ballroom"*

And yes!! It's all perfect!! Now just to plan out the days - and if I get a job between then and now, then it'll just be saturday and sunday.

Now I've just got to solve my financial problems >.>...
But first - HOSHI!!!

Where did my time go!? Where did my afternoon go!? *tears* And also, still no ticket for nee-chan because they switched the selling time and I had to get going for my grandma's birthday. Two hours spent in a car and then the other 4 spending time with extended family. At least there was cake.
Tomorrow is my littlest brother's birthday and he should be pretty happy tomorrow.
I won't be wasting too much time though during the day. And I have to get up early again to answer a very important phone call.

Also - major hate for paypal and banks in general.
But otherwise I'm happy.

Later then guys~
